Creating a Persona

Personas lets you target your contacts by grouping those who share common characteristics.

Creating a persona is similar to creating a group, as the selection of criteria is the same.

Access Path > Configuration > Contacts > Personas

Read all the detailed steps

  1. In the configuration page listing all contact related features, choose Personas.
  2. In the persona page, click Create a persona.
  3. Then, choose a name and image to represent it, and click Continue.
  4. In the persona definition page, select the various criteria identifying your persona by using any field from the contact's profile, an opt-in status, data in a relational table, the contact's creation source or the contact's geolocation. To do so:
    1. In the left pane, select the type of criteria you want to use and drag and drop it in the central pane.
    2. Then, specify the searched information.
    3. Once the criteria is defined, click Save.
    4. Repeat for each criteria to be added.
      *It is possible to use cumulative criteria (with AND), which means that contacts will have to meet them all to be associated to this persona, or
      choose to target contacts who only meet one OR another of the criteria OF THE SAME TYPE. The add icon displays when you hover over the criteria.
    5. Once you have completed the persona's definition, click Continue to go to the next step.
  5. In the Update frequency page, specify when you want personas to be updated and applied to your contacts. Note that uou can also perform an update any other time by clicking Update again now.


  6. Repeat all the previous steps for each persona to be created.
  7. After having done an import or modified your personas, use the Update personasoption to recalculate them all.
    • Make sure to check the validity of your persona by reading errors and warnings.
