A landing page is a Web page where a recipient lands after clicking on a link in a promotion, an email, an ad banner, etc. It is different from a "normal" page. Its main purpose is to realize a specific action (downloading a doc, requesting an estimate, requesting an appointment). This page does not contain navigation and could contain several versions. To learn more about good practices for landing pages, see this article.
