When the SMS is ready to be sent, you still have a few elements to configure to transmit the message. You can send the SMS at a specific time by following the steps in this article or you can include the SMS in an automated campaign which will manage the sending.
Access path: Communications → SMS |
Requirements
- Create a group targeting contacts (with a phone number value in the field configured for the SMS channel) who are admissible to the SMS channel and have a consent to receive the communication linked to this message. Phone numbers entered for this purpose must also be compatible with the formats supported by Dialog Insight. To get a complete listing of all supported formats and countries, see Supported Number Formats for Sending SMS.
- Test the SMS
- Verify the number of fragments of the SMS Vérifier le nombre de fragments du SMS
Step 1: Select Recipients
In the send interface, select a group of contacts to target in that sending. Use the checkbox next to the group you want to add and click the right arrow to send it to the right panel:You can select several groups.
Step 2: Manage Duplicates
Specify how you want to process recipients who have the same phone number:
- by limiting to one copy of the SMS per SMS number Eleminates the duplicates. If 3 contacts have the same phone number, only one SMS will be sent.
- by sending the SMS to each contact: Keeps the duplicates. If 3 contacts have the same number, 3 SMS messages will be sent, one for each contact.
Step 3: Specify the Scheduling
You can send the SMS now or at a specified moment. It is recommended to choose a strategic moment which complies with the laws of the country of your recipients. Thus, it is better to use the At a certain time option:
Specify the date and time, as well as the time zone. If you send the SMS later, you also need to specify if the list of recipients must be updated at that time. If so, newly added contacts will be added and those not targeted anymore will be removed. The list of recipients will be prepared on the date set for sending the SMS. It is suggested to use the Count button to check if the number of contacts is accurate before performing the mailing.
It is also possible to configure a time limit for delivery in the Additional options. For example, if you have promotion that expires, it is possible to set an end date to avoid sending the promotion after the expiration.
Restrictions on dates and times for commercial SMS sendings in France Note that France imposes restrictions on dates and times to send commercial-type SMS. As a preventive measure, Dialog Insight does not deliver SMS during these periods. Delivery will resume automatically during the next allowed time. Legislation in France allows sending promotional messages only from 8:00 to 20:00 Monday to Friday and 10:00 to 20:00 on Saturdays. It is forbidden to send promotional messages on Sundays and on holidays. If some of your communications become invalid after a specific date or time, we offer some measures to counter this problem. An SMS configuration in the account management allows you to say whether you want the deployment not to be resumed automatically during the legal period. A user will therefore have to approve the message to continue sending. Note that this option blocks shipping to other countries as well. |
Step 4: Prepare the Sending
Click Prepare deployment. A confirmation window opens and lists a few validation points to make sure your message complies with the electronic mailing standards. If your message is compliant, click Confirm and prepare.
Once the preparation is completed, another confirmation window opens, where you approve and send the message. In the approbation window, click Approve to immediately approve the SMS or click Details to see more information on the SMS before sending it.
Once all validations are performed and the message is ready to be sent, click Approve. If however you decide not to send this message, click Reject and specify the reason why and confirm.
