To create your first email campaign with Dialog Insight, you need to complete a few steps, from preparing your environment to analyzing your results. This guide walks you through the process and outlines the main steps involved in creating, testing, and sending your first email. Whether you are new to email marketing or already have experience in this field, you will find the guidance you need to launch your first campaign.
Step 1: Configure the Email Channel
Before sending your first email, make sure the Email channel is properly configured in your account. Certain configurations are required to authenticate your emails, improve deliverability, and ensure that the channel works properly.
Step 2: Set up Consent Management
Consent management allows you to determine which communications your contacts agree to receive. You must define the types of communications (newsletters, promotions, events, etc.) and the associated subscriptions. These settings will be used to manage subscriptions and determine which contacts can receive each type of communication.
Step 3: Add Your Contacts
To send a campaign, you need to have contacts in your project. You can add them individually or import a contact list from an external file. When importing contacts, make sure to include their consent information, particularly their consent status and, when required, the date they subscribed.

→ Import Contact Consent Status and Date
To receive your email, a contact must be active, eligible for the Email channel, have the required consent, and meet the targeting criteria for your send. For more information, see Conditions for a Contact to be Targeted by an Email.
Step 4: Segment Your Audience
Before creating your email, determine which contacts you want to reach based on your campaign's objective. You can segment your contact list using various tools, such as groups, personas, and scoring.
For example, a group allows you to bring together contacts who meet the criteria you have defined. You can then use this group as your target audience when sending your campaign.

Step 5: Create Your Email
You can now create the message you want to send to your contacts. This includes choosing a starting template, setting your sender information, and adding your email content.
→ Create an Email (Overview of Steps)
Step 6: Test and Validate Your Email
Before sending your email, take the time to review it. Make sure the content displays correctly, the links work, and the personalization is accurate. You can also send test emails to check how your message appears in your own inbox.
Refer to the Guide on Email Validation and Tests to learn about the different tools available to you.
Step 7: Send Your Campaign
Once your email content is ready, you can choose the sending method that best suits your needs.
Option 1: One-Time Send
This method allows you to send your email to a specific audience on the date and at the time of your choice. It is particularly suited to one-time communications, such as newsletters or announcements.
Option 2: Automated Campaign
To automate your email sends, choose an automated campaign. You can include your email and define the conditions that will trigger its delivery to targeted contacts. This method is particularly useful for recurring communications or messages triggered by an action or event.
→ Create an Automated Campaign
Step 8: Review Your Campaign Results
Once your campaign has been sent, you can review its results to evaluate its performance. You will have access to metrics such as delivery, opens, and clicks. Analyzing these results will help you better understand your contacts' engagement and optimize your future communications.
