Creating groups using the simple edit mode is the default mode used when creating a new group.
This mode offers the most commonly used criteria. If you cannot find what you need to create a group using this mode, switch to the advanced edit mode.
The availability of criteria is based on the modules you have enabled in your project. For instance, if you don't have the event management module, there won't be any event related criteria.
The criteria types are listed in the table below by alpabetical order.
Criteria | Description |

Profile | To target contacts using a value from any field in the contact profile.

Opt-ins | To target contacts that have subscribed or not to a given communication type. |
Relational data | To target contacts based on a value from a custom table in the project. |
Contact source | To target contacts based on how they were created. It is also possible to target a specific period. |
Geolocation | To target contacts based on their location from a given postal code or from a specific point on a map, depending on the option selected when the feature was enabled.

Recent imports | To target contacts included in a recent import (up to 15 days maximum). You can choose to include all contacts that were imported or just those that were added or edited with the import. You just need to select the import file and then specify which imported contacts to include in the group. |
Score | To target contacts who have a given score. The calculation and format of the score depends on how it was configured for the project. |
Personas | To target contacts based on personas you have created. Persona calculation is updated as per the set frequency, or on demand. You can choose to include contacts who are associated to one single persona or to multiple ones. |
Sent messages | To target contacts based on an action related to a given message, such as if the message was sent, delivered, viewed, clicked or in error. |
Engagement | To target contacts on their engagement and create groups based on the frequency or recency of actions your contacts have performed on your messages. Using this criteria, you can target contacts who have, or have not, received, opened or click in a message, during a given period or a given number of times, and this for one or more communication types. Sent SMS | To target contacts to whom a message was sent by SMS, or who have not received it due to a delivery error. |
Sent mobile push | To target contacts in relation with a specific mobile push notification that was sent, whether to find the contacts to whom the notification was delivered, or not, or the contacts who have opened it, or not.

Sent web push | To target contacts in relation with a specific web push notification that was sent, whether to find the contacts to whom the notification was delivered, or not, or the contacts who have opened it, or not.

Mobile views | To target contacts based on the device/platform last used to open a message. |
Contests | To target contacts who have entered or not a given contest, or who have won. |
Events | To target contacts based on an action related to given event, such as if they registered, attended or confirmed and not their registration. |
Surveys | To target contacts that have started or completed a given survey. |
Scenarios | To target contacts who are affected by a given scenario that is in progress or completed. |
Abandoned cart | To target contacts who have abandoned a shopping cart. |
