Message results allow you to see various results compiled in relation to individual messages, message mailings or even campaigns. Summary or detailed results are available. To see how to display either the summary or the detailed results, read Viewing Message Results.

Message related results that take into account the date and/or time are displayed as per the same time zone as the project. Therefore, if you have selected a time zone other than that of the for application servers, the results will also be calculated based on this time zone. Time zone information is shown in the header of the result summary page; when the time zone is different, the date of the results as the UTC time standard are indicated.

Chart Descriptions

Name
Description
Chart in the header
Bar chart that compiles the results of the four pie charts presented on the summary page, that is the number of messages that were delivered, viewed and clicked, as well as the number of deactivated contacts. On the first line, you can see the production rate, which corresponds to the number of messages delivered compared to the number of targeted contacts. The production rate is usually 100% once all messages have been delivered and is most useful during the mailing progress.
Delivery performance
Chart that displays the number of contacts targeted by the message, the number of delivered messages and the number of delivery errors.
A message is considered to be delivered when is has been sent to the destination server, and delivered to the contact.
Detailed charts

To display a list of contacts associated to a given section of the chart, click on that section in the chart itself, or click on the corresponding item in the legend.

Same chart as on the summary page, but in full page view - The full page version displays upon clicking on the chart or on any legend item, except those associated to errors.

Error specific chart - This chart shows upon clicking on an error related item in the legend.

View distribution
Chart that shows the number of distinctive messages opened, that is the number of different contacts who have received and opened the message, and on which platforms it was opened.
A message is considered to have been opened when the recipient has downloaded the images or has clicked on at least one link in the message.

When calculating results to be displayed, only the first time a contact opens a message is taken into account. Therefore, if a person opens the same message more than once, for example on a computer and then on a mobile phone, only the first opening will be calculated.

Detailed charts

Three types of charts are available:

  • Open rates - This version of the chart displays the number of opened and unopened messages, based on two display options:
    • Messages sent - With this option, the chart shows the number of opened and unopened messages amongst sent messages, that is messages that have been sent to the destination message server, but not yet delivered to contacts.
    • Messages delivered - With this option, the chart displays the number of opened and unopened messages amongst those delivered, that is those messages that have been accepted by the delivery server and sent to contacts.
  • Multiple views - This version of the chart shows the total number of messages opened, grouped by the number of views by the same person, and the average number of views per person.
  • Platforms  - This version offers two options:

    • Total views - With this option, the chart presents the total number of times the message was opened. Therefore, if a person opens the messages 5 times, it will be counted as 5 views.
    • First view - This option of the chart indicates the number of different contacts who have viewed the message, taking into account only the first view. Therefore, if a person opens the message 5 times (twice on a computer and 3 times on a smart phone), it will be calculated as only one view.
Click-through distribution
Chart that displays the number of contacts who have clicked on at least one link in the message. This chart also shows the distribution of platforms on which the link was clicked.
A message is considered to have been clicked when the recipient has clicked on at least one of the links in the message.

When calculating the results, only the first click by person is taken into account.
